The KWA KM4 SR5 is a radical evolution in airsoft quality, both internally and externally. KWA has gone great lengths to enhance everything from the appearance of the KM4's profile (including new trades), to a full gearbox overhaul.
The SR5 with its small form factor sets it firmly apart from some of KWAs larger M4s. It is easy to handle in small spaces and has a strong visual presence due to its well crafted rails. The SR5 is also calibrated for a high rate of fire.
Externals:
The KWA KM4 SR5 is a 9in barreled M4 carbine with a 5 inch free float rail. This makes it a very small and compact CQB ready type weapon. KWA has pre-installed very high quality flip-up sights atop the RIS. These will stay clear of any optics and accessories you mount across all that picatinny rail space.
When inspecting the body of the gun, you will immediately note the matte black finish. This is easily the most striking physical feature, especially if you have handled the other M4s out there. The KM4 feels almost like a velvet piece of metal when you run your hand across the body (Just watch out for those rails!).
KWA has also given some attention to their trademarks. They have changed their logo on the body of the M4 SR5, as well as adding laser-etched lettering with model, caliber and serial number details. KWA has also added the model number and city of their US headquarters on opposite sides of the rail... a nice visual touch.
The KWA M4 SR5 also has a newly designed crane stock, modelled after the size of the real steel. It's also been redesigned internally for a new level of ease in battery access (The stock fits AA cell butterfly NiMh or LiPo batteries. The fuse is held directly under the buttplate of the new stock, making it more accessible than ever.
Internals :
The KWA KM4 SR5 is built with KWA's new 2Gx gearbox and 2G performance hop-up bucking. The 2Gx gearbox is a total redesign that features 9mm bearings (which are nearly indestructible) and heat treated (hardened) internal components. The gearbox shell has also been updated and reinforced to take a higher load at the head. Like all KWA AEGs, the KWA KM4 SR5 is LiPo ready out of the box.
